How COM-PLATES was born

During the Showa era, a tatami desk was found in the living room of every household.
Times have changed, and the tatami culture has disappeared, with people now living in chairs as their main lifestyle.
The desk that had been placed in the center of the room was now considered a nuisance,
The reality is that it has been discarded.
Trees hundreds of years old are cut down for human greed,
When you no longer need it, throw it away.
Hoping to stop such selfish human behavior even a little,
[COMP-PLATES Ⅰ] was born.

Gathering materials
【COMPLATES Ⅰ】 was discarded
Upcycled tatami desk legs .
The general size of a Japanese-style table leg is about 100mm square x 300mm long.
From there, a board measuring 115mm x 100mm x 7mm thick was taken.
It is attached to a metal mold and then carved into a solid piece.
